Makran Coast
Chabahar, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran
A documentary photographic collection from Chabahar, on the Makran coast of southeastern Iran, exploring the meeting point of the Oman Sea, desert landscapes, dramatic geological formations, coastal communities, and Balochi culture. The collection includes the distinctive Martian Mountains and their eroded formations, the pink waters and wetlands of Lipar Lagoon, the beaches and rocky coastline of the Oman Sea, and the fishing landscapes of places such as Beris Port. It also documents the historic village of Tis, the Tis Portuguese Fortress, traditional coastal settlements, fishermen, boats, local people, and everyday life along the Makran coast. Through a documentary perspective, these photographs present Chabahar not simply as a coastal destination, but as a living landscape where ocean, desert, history, geology, local culture, and contemporary life come together.
